The Camerawalls is a three-man indie-pop band
based in Manila, Philippines. Formed by its
songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Clementine (Clem Castro),
The Camerawalls rises from the ashes of Orange
& Lemons – which disbanded in September 2007
after skyrocketing to popularity on the merit of three
distinct albums that found favor in a discriminating
musical audience.
Now with drummer Ian Sarabia and bassist Law Santiago,
Clementine continues to wield his prolific
songwriter’s pen and further showcases mastery in
indie pop visions. Clementine’s indie heritage finds
fulfilment through in a DIY ethos. He self-produced
The Camerawalls debut album "Pocket Guide To The
Otherworld," released in July 2008 via Clementine’s
own Lilystars Records label.
The music of The Camerawalls creates ripples of nostalgia
and pop – manifesting an eclectic array of influences
ranging from ‘60s-era Beatles, to The Jam, to
the ‘80s guitar pop sound of The Smiths, XTC, Terry
Hall, The Stone Roses, and The Pale Fountains, to
name a few.
Lead-off singles “Markers of Beautiful Memories” and
“Clinically Dead For 16 Hours” exemplify the rich
and meticulously clean sound of The Camerawalls,
inviting the listener to continue the audio adventure.
The Camerawalls further adds a distinct stamp to music
by using indigenous rondalla instruments (octavina
and banduria) in some tracks such as the Spanish
“Canto De Maria Clara” (an original Jose Rizal poem)
and “Lizards Hiding Under Rocks.” The result is a
true marriage of eastern and western flavors.
While being comfortable in their niche of sound, The
Camerawalls wants to reach out to a wider listenership
across the globe. To this end, Clementine and
company are relying on the Internet and the word-ofmouth
fame they are generating whenever and wherever
they play.

THE CHONGKEYS A band with mix genre, through our music of rock alternative, reggae with a little bit of ,funk, rap, dub and few surprises that are recepies for a whole lot of fun into a good sound trip.



THE CHONGKEYS was formed in 2003 and today still consist of the four members, namely BENJIE P. ESTANISLAO (voice), JOHAN S. LUGTU (guitar/voice) PEPITO TRINIDAD (bass) and MARK MARQUEZ (drums). We started in a simple jamming session place in Marikina called “Groove Shop” (an indie skate store). Benjie who was one of the owners of Groove Shop; Johan was a vocalist of a hardcore CAKEWALK band, Pepito from BEEWINGS band and Mark a former drummer of CHERRY CORNFLAKES who replaced the former drummer Judas of ILL ADVICE. After several jamming sessions and being together we decided to make more songs and get serious about it. Few months after, we had EP launched, 10 tracks of our original songs at the rock and roll Purple Haze Bar. THE CHONGKEYS had the honor of playing in many venues in metro manila (Bars: Mayrics, Xymaca, Club Dreeds, Purple Haze Bar, Freedom Bar, Dayo Bar, Kolumn Bar, Magnet Bar, Ride and Roll Diners, 9Mile bar, 70’s Bistro, One Love Bar, 6 Underground, Wills Attic and more). Also played in some parties like birthday’s, company’s christmas parties and our out of town gigs with some of the top performers in the Philippine Music Industry. We also played in most of the big events within Metro Manila like Pulp Summer Slam, Fete de la Musique Malate, Rakista 7, 9 & 10, Skateboard Demo and Competition, Tabak, Urge Magazine Tour, UP Fair, Dutdutan Festival 2008, Give A Damn for Rizal 2008, The First Clark Rock Festival, Arts Music Festival (I,II,III and IV) and several guesting and judging for Battle of the Bands. Had the opportunities to play on TV Sows like Breakfast Show with Studio23 and Jojo A of QTV Channel and Live Radio Interviews with NU107 FM, Jam88.3 live session and YesFM Boracay. We believed, supported, promoted and respected different genre. Because of our respect and faith in music we had given a chance to be managed by Ann Angala-Shy (a former band manager of Eraserheads and POT). During her guidance and supervision we


promoted one of our songs title “DIKSYONARYO” and luckily had been chosen to be one of the tracks for Doobie Nights Album produced by Jam 88.3 under Galaxy Records, also this song has been placed in your regular videoke selection around metro and “TIGNAN MO” (one of our song) was nominated Song of the Year in 2007 NU107 Rock Awards. THE CHONGKEYS had earned so much respect from both underground and mainstream scenes. Known band artists like Rivermaya, Kamikaze and Radio Active Sago Project just to name a few gave us their appreciation to our music. In August 2008 Ann Angala-Shy appointed our Road Manager Ann Constantino (a member of AMA Sound of Nativity Music Society and production manager of UProductions Manila) to take her position as a Band manager. On the other hand, Ann Angala-Shy is now our band consultant. February 4, 2009 we had launched our first music video for “DIKSYONARYO”.

Smooth and composed yet coarse and frenzied, sophisticated yet vulgar, safe but dangerous, familiar but somehow different - this is the kind of music generated by the band KENYO.

KENYO is a crossover act that would appeal to both rock and pop audiences alike with influences ranging from vintage rock, British pop and folk music to the Philippine's own Manila sound and "kundiman" or traditional songs of love.

Members of the band all hail from Bulacan (a province just a few miles north of Manila, Philippines). Kenyo is short for "Bulakenyo," which is what people from Bulacan are called.

Formed in 2008, KENYO's potential was immediately recognized that it was soon signed under major label Universal Records, Philippines. They released a trippy-musical scrapbook of sorts in their first project album called RADIOSURFING that spawned the hit songs "Sana" and "Ayoko Na Sa 'Yo". This project also led the group to a successful tour of the United States, in the state of California, on September of 2008.

KENYO is releasing a new album called MAHARLIKA. This time, the group writes and dishes out original music filled with zest, their own special sound and poetry.

KENYO's affinity towards the sweet sound of the past, pop sensibilities, honest lyricism and edgy musical approach makes the band a thrilling experience on its own.

Singer-Songwriter

Sofia is a singer-songwriter whose ability to sing an eclectic mixture of English, Tagalog, Japanese and Portuguese has commanded a solid following and respect across various groups and ages in and out of Asia. Sofia’s open-mindedness to a wide spectrum of music has led to her own music often likened to a cup of fusion tea – an expression of the wild, the sensitive, and the lonely. Her lyrics explore her own experiences and the experiences that the common man can relate to.

In 2009, she was signed by S2S to be groomed for the international market. Her first international album by S2S was first released in Japan last October 2009, and thereafter in Asia.

From Japan, Singapore, other parts of Asia and soon in the Philippines...

Sofia’s International album, “I Believe” will hit record stores in the Philippines by February 2010 under Vicor Music. The album will feature Sofia’s naturally sophisticated rendition of songs like, “Out of the Blue”, “Moon River” and so much more.

Working with Sofia for this brand new album is well respected and known bossa nova samba music producer, guitarist and musical genius from Japan, Mr. Jun Kagami. The two hit it off right from the start of recording perfecting every piece they put together for this world class album.

MAGUINDANAON KULINTANGAN GROUP @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Kulintang is a musical instrument which is a set of eight bronze (or brass) gongs, graduated in size and in tuning, and suspended horizontally on a wooden stand. It’s a time immemorial practice by people in Mindanao particularly the Moros. Sagayan, Tidto, Tagungo and Binalig

Kulintang music generally could be found as the social entertainment at a host of different occasions. It is used during large feasts, festive/harvest gatherings, for entertainment of visiting friends and relatives, and at parades. Kulintang music also accompanies ceremonies marking significant life events, such as weddings and annual pilgrimages returning to and from Mecca.Kulintang music also plays a significant role during state functions, used during official celebrations, entertaining of foreign dignitaries and important visitors of distant lands, court ceremonies of either the sultanate or village chieftains, enthroning/coronations of a new leader and the transferral of a sultanate from one family to another.

Kulintang music is prohibited from being played inside mosques and during Islamic rites/observances/holidays, such as the fasting month (Ramadhan), where playing is only allowed at night during the time when they are allowed to eat. They also prohibit it during the mourning period of the death of important person, during funerals, and during the peak times of the planting and harvest season

Kulintang music has uses other than public performances. It also is used to accompany healing ceremonies/rituals (pagipat)/animistic religious ceremonies. Though this practice has died out among the Maranao due to its non-Islamic nature, some areas in Mindanao, Sabah and Malaku still practice this ancient tradition.

Kulintang music can be used for communicating long distance messages from one village or longhouse to another. Called apad, these renditions could be used to mimic the Maguindanao language, creating a private language or a form of social commentary that only those who know the music would understand. However, apad is coming to disuse due to the fact, times are changing — apad with its once special meanings are no longer relevant in larger, mixed populations. Instead, anun, music without a message used to express one’s sentiments/feelings, has come more and more into use due to the fact it works well with the musical elaborations and idiosyncratic styles of the times.

Kulintang music was also crucial in relation to courtships due to the very nature of Islamic custom, which did not allow for unmarried men and women to intermingle. Traditionally, unmarried daughter were kept in a special chamber in the attic called a lamin, off-limit to visitors and suitors. It was only when she was allowed to play during kulintang performances were suitors allowed to examine her. It’s because of this kulintang music was traditionally seen as one of the rare socially approved vehicles for interaction among the sexes


Our performers of kulintangan called themselves “Maguindanaon Kulintangan Group” each one from the group started playing kulintang at a very young ages, they can perform almost all musics of kulintang like sinulog (exhibition), tidto that can be accompanied by sagayan commonly played in wedding and baptism, tangungo exclusive for healing rituals and the binalig, a kulintang with dances. They are Hadja Rahma Machmood, Hadja Sapia Lucas, Bai Dido Ayao, Hadja Salam and LucasNoroddin Lucas together with their dancer Bai Sirikit.

These people are internally displaced persons (IDP’s), their originally from Maguindanao but because of the continuous existence of war in Mindanao and poverty they decided to situate themselves here in Metro Manila particularly in the muslim village in Taguig City called Maharlika. The existence of kulintang symbolizes and speaks peace and serenity. But because of threat and existence of unpeace situation in areas in Mindanao, the people decided to keep their musical instrument and hold and take up arms to protect themselves. In this present situation, its not just the influence of the western culture that droves away the people to forget their cultures and traditions but instead its the situation that forces them to do so. How do you think could you still play the instrument where any moment there’s danger? Bombs may fall.

Pat took up Legal Management at DLSU in 2004. While in college, he was already recording bands; Mayonnaise was one of his first visitors in my home recording studio, followed by Sultans of Snap and Severo. After graduation, he was asked by Louie Talan – owner of WombWorks Studios to work as a sound engineer. There, he was trained by Aries Guinto and Louie Talan himself. He’s been with WombWorks for 6 years and now as a partner.

is a musician, sound engineer and producer. Among his most famous works as producer include Pupil's "Beautiful Machines", albums by Sponge Cola, Mayonnaise and cover m quick/!\. During the 2006 NU Rock Awards, Patrick Tirano was nominated for his work on "Beautiful Machines" as "Producer of the Year". He also recently finished work with Sponge Cola to release the band's third, eponymous record. He is also currently gigging with bands like Monkeyspank and TOI.

A musician, a songwriter and a record producer. The owner and manager of local indie pop label - Lilystars Records which houses and manages a number of bands including his own. He is currently the vocalist/guitarist of The Camerawalls, an offshoot from
his defunct former band Orange & Lemons.

Lilystars Records is an independent record label based in Manila, Philippines dedicated to Indie (Rock/Pop/Electronic and its derivative) Music. Determined to house significant local and international indie artists and connect them to the world and beyond where music lovers are most receptive to its aesthetics and sensibility.

Jerome Pedrigal Velasco is a producer, engineer and musician who has collaborated with diverse filipino musicians and visual artists. He co-founded the 90’s band Teeth and later joined Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia to form The Mongols and has produced Pupil’s highly acclaimed 2008 album “WildLife”. He is now currently sessioning for Rico Blanco, an ambient project called Citrusphere, and ambient psychedelic group – The Slave Drum. He actively supports the growth of the independent music scene and the recognition and protection of every artists work.

THE FEU BAMBOO BAND

In 1966, Far Eastern University President Dr. Nicanor Reyes Jr. with the help of Mr. Victor Toledo, established in the FEU Grade School the Singing Bamboo Band also known as the “FEU Pangkat Kawayan (FEUPK).” The FEUPK then transferred to the FEU Girls High School then to FEU Diliman before eventually returning to the Manila Campus. In 2007, the group was reorganized and later on changed its name to the “FEU Bamboo Band”. At present, it consists of 30 young and very talented FEU Students from different colleges and is now being conducted by Mr. Norberto Cads and Ms. Jemmelette Tambot under the supervision of Professor Abner Cruz. The FEU Bamboo Band falls under the auspices of the President’s Committee on Culture.

The basic instruments that the FEU Bamboo Band uses are the marimba (which provides the melody), the lira gabbang (a traditional Muslim instrument), bumbong (which carry out bass and chord rhythms), and angklungs (which provide melodies and counterpoints to the marimba tunes). These instruments are ingeniously crafted from indigenous materials, mainly bamboo and narra, and were handmade by Professor Siegfredo Calabig.

The FEU Bamboo Band not only performs regularly for major activities and programs in school but also for diplomats, tourists, and various functions in the Malacañang Palace, including the PAPAL Visit in the 1980’s. The group has performed regularly in different prestigious programs on television and in different events in Quezon Memorial Circle, Folk Arts Theater, hotels and museums, and concerts like the “CONCERT AT THE PARK” in the Luneta Park, and the “SINING AT KALINANGAN SA BAYWALK”, a project of Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.

MATILDA @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

MATILDA is a name for a battleground maiden. It is taken from the names of different legendary women warriors of twelfth and thirteenth century England, who fought for their rights.
Like the femme fatale name, Matilda is an army herself as she confronts the local rock scene predominantly ruled by men. With the band’s erratic feminine stereotype mostly branded as androgynous, one can expect from this group an unconventional hybrid of music whose identity tears down the preconceived notions of girl bands.
Matilda, the clever, precocious and powerful character of the child protagonist of Roald Dahl’s book, “Matilda”, has qualities that mirror the individual traits of the band’s members as well as the whole group’s own aura.
Matilda’s music isn’t confined to a fixed genre but it acknowledges its heavy leanings on goth, grunge, heavy metal, rock, and, classical influences. With Charms Tianzon on vocals; Meryl Antonio on guitars; Yvette Tunguia on bass; Jovi Reyes on drums; and Maricor Reyes on the violin, all together they raise a following wherever their music takes a visit.

The band started Mid 90’s, originaly formed by different Malabon bands Regularly Played & hung out in Club Dredd Cubao Edsa as a side project. Isko on vocals and Harold in rhythm guitar, came from the band “TANIKALA”, Amy on lead guitar and Arnel on bass, both came from the band “ANATHEMA”, and Edgar “popoy punk” in drums, from the band “PINTADOS”. FMD use to played spoof rock music in “CLUB DREDD in a special show entitled “Rock Comedy night” with DATU’S TRIBE & PAROKYA NI EDGAR. And also played on EDSA ROCK ATTACK 1 on edsa shrine on feb 26 1997. and some rock bars like MARICS bar, Espania Manila, YOSH CAFÉ in Pasay. Unfortunately, FMD was disbanded on late 90’s.

But after 8 long years Isko started to revived a new FMD with a new young and talented members and the band started to played in Bar Production and also played in some big concert event.

CLAY SCULPTURE WORKSHOP by ULYSSES VELOSO @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

ULY VELOSO

Ulysses Veloso is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree major in Sculpture and presently pursuing graduate studies under the UP Master of Fine Arts Program. He has mounted 14 major solo shows and 15 group exhibitions in major museums, galleries, and alternative art spaces in the Philippines. He has a long list of commissioned works both in the local and international art market.

Veloso has worked on representational and non-representational forms in his past exhibits using a wide range of materials from the traditional to the industrial. He is currently using stainless steel, copper, brass and bronze in his sculptures.

Veloso’s passion to create art is seen in the way he manipulates three-dimensional form to produce small and large scale works that are dynamic, transformative and experiential. He explores the possibilities of sculptural materials from its visual quality to meaning and weaves into it his ideas and experiences to form a work of art that is truly reflective of his artistic sensibilities. Every work of art is an articulation of Veloso’s mastery of the formal elements, technical brilliance and zest for art and life.

His present engagement with art discourses in the academe has led him to locate his art in another dimension as material, technique and thematic choices are transformed into varying contexts which foreground not only aesthetic experience but also as a critical agency of art theories and current art practices. Veloso’s art now may tread into the abstract realm of artistic philosophy but his articulation is one that is not elitist and intimidating to the audience.

KRISSY & ERICKA @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Up and coming teen pop duo, Regine Kristine a.k.a. KRISSY and Ericka Renee Villongco better known as ERICKA (sisters of only 10 months apart in age) are very fresh faces to watch out for in the local music scene. As young as 15 and 16, Krissy & Ericka are already excellent guitarists, singers and songwriters. Growing up singing together at church and family gatherings, formal training in music schools and theater performances fully inspired them to really put their hearts into music. Both have taken formal music lessons from the UP school of music for voice, classical music and flute. Brace yourselves for the "M2M of the Philippines" as they finally hit the airwaves!

MCA Music is proud to introduce the freshest teen pop duo and their eponymous debut album which features fresh and exciting tracks. Massive hits "Game of Love", "Runaway", "Baby Now that I Found You", and the M2M Hit "Don’t Say You Love Me" are given a fresh flair with a tinge of country feel!

Given the diversity of their range, Krissy & Ericka also gives the Broadway hit "Tomorrow" from the Musical "Annie" a new and exciting pop flavor! CARL JOE JAVIER

Carl Javier has taught English and Creative Writing at the high school and college levels. He has been writing as a journalist for various publications for a decade now, writing on a range of topics including literature, film, music, and video games. His fiction and poetry have appeared in a number of publications and have been anthologized. A graduate of Creative Writing from UP Diliman, he was a fellow to the Dumaguete National Writer's Workshop in 2003, the UP National Writer's Workshop in 2005, and the UP Advanced National Writer's Workshop in 2009. His first book And the Geek Shall Inherit the Earth was published by Milflores in 2009, while his second book Geek Tragedies will be published by the UP Press.

A Man with Infinite Imagination

Have you ever thought about getting your skin tattooed? Or even thought about doing it on someone else’s skin? Butch Bautista thought of both. And on May 2006, a daring move to put up a tattoo shop where he could dedicate majority of his time in the town of Rizal made him realize how more successful he could be by facing this risk.

Butch Bautista was born November 16, in Quezon City and occasionally spending his time in Taytay. There were not much exposure to tattoos while growing up, but his love for art was always there since he first picked up his pencil and drew something on paper. He got his interest in tattoos when he was asked by classmates to make mock tattoos using a plain pen, eventually getting his ring finger inked back when he was in college. Unfortunately, he had to hide that tattoo as his folks didn’t like the idea of people getting one. After finishing college, Butch worked normal day jobs and only did tattoos as a hobby on the side when his friends and buddies would ask for it. Sensing that he could enhance his skills some more, and eventually earn more than what he’s getting, Butch decided to hone his craft and became a full-time tattoo artist. Butch joined the Philippine Tattoo Artist Guild (PHILTAG) – an organization certified by the Department of Health, eventually meeting his mentors that helped him refine his works. With that decision came a lot of adjustments and sacrifices for him and his family. He had to shuttle back and forth to different locations, shared spaces with other artists and serviced clients at home.

All the sacrifice and dedication paid off eventually. Butch is a consistent figure during tattoo conventions, expositions and competitions. He doesn’t fail to garner different awards every time he competes. Butch is known for portrait tattoos and designs with dark and creepy themes. His list of clients range from known actors, models, sports stars and even government officials.

Today, he continues to work his craft and shares it to those who, just like him, started out with the love for art on the road to becoming a well-known tattoo artist.

Victor is a former member of Ballet Philippines from 1987 to 1999. He performed with the company in all the national and international shows.
In 1988, he went to Atlanta ballet school on a scholarship grant from Manniya Barredo and consequently studied with the Boston Ballet school.
Victor holds a Fine Arts degree at the PWU institute of Fine arts and Design.
Collaborating with Agnes Locsin’s La Revolucion Filipina as costume designer leads him to become Production designer for Medea and Neo-Filipino for Ballet Philippines.
He is a member of the CCP dance school faculty, Philippine High School for the Arts and at Steps dance studio.
In 2005, He was given a grant to observe various arts institutes and museums in Paris, France. He attended dance classes at the Center de Danse du Marais while in Paris. He is also into Photography and his works can also be seen at http://www.jpgmag.com/people/dancescape.

Minda Monica B. Ponce is born and bred in General Santos City, and believes in sports as a form of art in motion. Involved in various sports activities and was part of the football varsity in her University years in UP, she is now a professional Sports photographer when not teaching pre school. Her works vary from still photography for films, cultural travel documentation, field action shots, adventure racing and sporting events that include moving and extreme camera work.

DR. VIM NADERA

Tayabas-born but Sampaloc-bred VICTOR EMMANUEL CARMELO D. NADERA, JR. is an award-winning poet, fictionist, playwright, and essayist. A B.S. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology degree-holder from the University of Santo Tomas, he pioneers Poetry Therapy in the country. A series of free sessions to cancer patients led to "Asia's first expressive art workshop" at the National Arts Center in 1995 and the staging of his satire Sens Op Tyumor in 1996. Among his outreach programs is the Three Ps , implemented in different hospitals and for which he has won support from the Philippine Society of Oncologists in different hospitals. In addition to being a member of Kapisanan ng May K sa Pilipinas (KMKP), the umbrella organization of support groups of cancer survivors in the Philippines, Nadera is involved with several universities and the writers' groups LIRA, UMPIL, and PETA Writers' Bloc. He founded the UST Writers' Workshop and the Moving the Pen Journalism/Literary Seminar in 1991, as well as the USTETIKA, which has been producing rosters of great young writers since 1989. At the University of the Philippines, he has been inspiring students since he organized Gatula (1996) and other groups known for Performance Poetry. Considered the "father of performance poetry in the Philippines," he represented the Philippines in the Kuala Lumpur World Poetry Reading (Malaysia, 2000), International Seminar on Southeast Asian Literature (Malaysia, 2001), Asia Arts Net Annual Conference (Taiwan, 2001) and Balagtasan sa Singapore (Singapore, 2002).
His epic Mujer Indigena and novel (H)istoryador(a) won the Centennial Literary Prize in 1998. On Balagtas Day of the same year, Vim became the youngest recipient of the Recognition Award from the Commission on Filipino Language, the same body known formerly as Institute of National Language that proclaimed him youngest Poet of the Year in 1985. He has also won in the National Book Awards, Rizal International Filipino Poetry Contest, Gawad Collantes, Palanca Awards, Carlos Bulosan Award. Other awards include the Gawad Leopoldo Yabes, Gawad Parangal ng Quezon, Gawad Chancellor, and TOYM. A prolific editor, critic, columnist, translator and author, his latest books are Poetreat: The Use of Poetry Therapy in Mutual Support Groups of Cancer Survivors in Metro Manila (UST, 2000) and Asinta: Mga Tula at Tudla (UST, 2002). Vim is at present the seventh, and the youngest, Director of the UP Institute of Creative Writing.

Multi-talented R&B singer-songwriter, Abby Assisttio, joins the roster of artists at the 5th Backdoor Ventures Arts & Music Festival!
Abby is a regular performer at venues around the metro and various events. She has graced the stages of Mio Fights Cancer Concert at Music Museum, Sitti Live! at Bagaberde, Roxas; Rivermaya Concert in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur; Ploning Thanksgiving Dinner at Dolce Super Club; Guess Jeans Sales Convention; Minute Maid Pulpy Orange Product Launch; Samsung Hitstop Launch. A talented songwriter, Abby has over 40 original compositions.

A pure Japanese who sings Tagalog and Japanese oldies favorites with a taste of Jazz. Inspired by the greats such as Mel Torme, Frank Sinatra. He also performs in local T.V. and Major Concerts. His tradewark is his Tagalog classics and OPMs arranged in a jazzy way, another face of Aisaku is the 'SALINAWIT' which are foreign songs translated to Tagalog by great writers such as Mr. Pete Lacaba (National Artist).

Active in volunteer work and church ministry, Aisaku is currently performing in various stages locally and internationally such as the International Jazz Festival, Teatrino/Music Museum (w/ the Manila Symphony Orchestra, Richard Poon, Jed Madela, Bayang Barrios, Olivia and other artists) while studying Theatre Arts. Not limiting himself to performing arts, Aisaku is also a known Art director/ Graphic/Web designer. He will be releasing an album soon with a popular cover of OPM/Japanese songs. NITYALILA @ The 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Nityalila Saulo is a Filipina singer-songwriter and a music producer. She was born and raised in a family of Yoga practitioners and vegetarians.

She first picked up her dad’s guitar at the early age of seven. At fourteen, she started exploring her writing abilities and by sixteen, she had written her first original composition.

Her lyrics are highly influenced by the Vedic and the Filipino culture that speaks about her heritage, essence, function, and position in life. Her music is rooted in folk infused with rock and world music.

Nityalila is an independent group of five Filipino musicians advocating Filipino Pride, Human Rights, and Environmental Issues through Music and the Arts. It was formed in 2003 by singer-songwriter and music producer Nityalila Saulo. Joining her on stage are members Miko Aguilar on bass, Sandy Baliong on drums, Tim Cada on guitars, and Vaishnava on percussions,

In its six years of existence, the group has performed regularly in both local and international stages that supports their advocacies, such as Fete Dela Musique, Arts and Music Festival, Earth Day Jam, Sunrise Music Festival, Peace Camp Concert, UP Fair, NU107 Concert Series, Jam88.3 Concert Series, Cultural Center of the Philippines Concert Series, The Taiwan Yoga Festival, The Bitan Music Festival in Taiwan, and The Migration Music Festival in Taiwan last September representing the Philippines.

The group has also produced three all-original albums such as “Nityalila Bootleg” released in 2003 by Nityalila in partnership with Rock Radio Cafe, “Uno Jornal” released in 2005 by independent label, Bagani Music, and “Ako’y Isang Pinay”, released in 2007 by Manna Records in partnership with Universal Records. Nityalila Saulo was also part of JAM88.3’s “Not Another Christmas Album” released in 2006 by EMI Music Philippines.

Just recently, Nityalila Saulo was nominated Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist at the 2008 Awit Awards, a prestigious award-giving body, spearheaded by PARI (The Philippine Association of the Record Industry, Inc.), that gives recognition to Filipino performing artists and people behind the making of Filipino recorded music.

Nityalila was born out of the realization that artists and musicians have the “powers” to empower, educate, and inspire the people, especially the youth, towards embracing our own culture and from there, creating original art forms and music.

She is also a member of Dakila, Philippine Collective for Modern Heroism — A collective of Filipino artists, musicians, and students that recognize that the Philippine society is in desperate need of change. Also a proud member and volunteer of Yabang Pinoy, a campaign that hopes to unite the Filipino people in believing in Filipino products, in themselves and in fellow Filipinos. She is also the founder and producer of Flippyknows, a community where Filipinos all over the world converge to share creativity and technology with each other.

KJWAN @ The 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Many describe 2003 as the year when the local rock scene seemed to have lost its identity and the people's ears weren't trained to appreciate new music anymore. It was at this time when Kjwan shot into the Philippine music scene.

Coming down raw and real, their self-titled debut album in 2004 spawned the hit song “Daliri.” This became an ode to the new generation of rock listeners and a calling to be true to oneself. Their album's popularity came not only with the unique name but also with the unforgettable sound.

The Manila-based band is made up of distinct personalities. Each individual has a musical inclination and their tastes don't always blend in as seamlessly. This may sound like a formula for a blow up but their friendship and the trials that they have traversed through have held them together.

Long-time friends and former high school band-mates Marc Abaya (vocals) and Kelley Mangahas (bass) got together with fellow Ateneans Jorel Corpus (guitar) and J-hoon Balbuena (drums) to form the band’s initial lineup. In 2004 by Boogie Romero (guitar), another high school friend and former band-mate of Marc and Kelley, joined the lineup.

Kjwan released their second album, “2StepMarv” three years later. It was all about the more complicated matter of growing up musically. Reviews consistently talked of the better quality of songs, revelations of individual talent, and the introduction of new musical elements into the predominantly rock sound.

The band won Favorite Indie Artist in the local music channel MYX’s music awards night. Their video “Pintura” nabbed “Favorite Guest Appearance” with the help of a seasoned actress, Chin-Chin Gutierrez. They were also featured for a month on MTV Pilipinas in December 2006. They enjoyed a month long feature as Yahoo Southeast Asia’s band of the month and another month long feature as “Celebrity VJ’s” in MYX for the whole month of April 2006. They also got nominated in 6 categories in the 2007 NU Rock Awards for Artist of the Year, Best Live Act, Album of the Year, Producer of the Year (with Angee Rozul), Vocalist of the Year (Marc Abaya) and Guitarist of the Year (Boogie Romero).

At this time, the band also had the chance to show what Philippine rock is made of to various countries abroad. They headlined HK-Live, in Central, HK last October 2007. HK-Live is a monthly showcase of the Hottest Acts around asia in HK’s Fringe Club. They were also part of the Annual Baybeats Music Festival in Singapore.

One of their biggest breakthroughs was winning the grand prize in the Asian and Philippine leg in IKON ASEAN Competition. Held in Putrajaya, Malaysia and watched by hundreds of thousands all over the region, their performance made an impact to the Asian Music Community. Kjwan bested 30 other bands from South East Asia.

Kjwan has just released their third album entitled “13 Seconds to Love.” Inspired by the fact that a great song can be determined in just thirteen seconds, the band brought this along in their song writing with love as the common theme.

STONEFREE @ The 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Originally named after where Relly and Regie Mangubat lived, near Marikina, "The Markina Sound Machine", now named as Stonefree, they band started in 1995 after the Mangubat brothers decided to form a band and added Miro and Benson to the group, all hailing from UP Diliman. Contrary to what most people believe, Stonefree is not named after Jimi Hendrix's song but rather a selection made out of a list of other names. They also stress that the name Stonefree also connotes that rock bands need not the typical "rockstar" attitude to succeed.

During their college heydays in UP, they had regular gigs on local bars performing songs from their influences like Matchbox 20, Jars of Clay and Incubus to name a few. They also performed on events like the San Miguel Oktoberfest, NU Summer Shebang, Pulp Summer Slam, Winston Tour, Rockista, 99.5 RT Ripe Tomatoes, NU Rock Awards, and MTV Music Summit to name some. All of this in 2000 while they are still studying.

They got their break in 2002 after joining Monster Radio RX 93.1's band competition, The RX Band Breakout. Although they did not win, their single Listen became a hit and even became Monster Radio RX 93.1 OPM Song of the Year and placed #3 at 103.5 K-Lite's Yearend Countdown in 2003. The success of listen gave them the start they needed to self produce a 4-track EP in also entitled Listen on July 23, 2004. The singles from their EP became hits of their own, Listen was a theme on an ABC-5 TV show called Singles, Kapag Nawala Ka their second singles, gained radio success, too. Baka Naman and Listen where included in a couple of compilation CD's.

This success led them to a record deal under Warner Music Philippines where they released their debut album, Hibiscus, named after the street where their rehearsal studio is at, on August 19 of the same year. The album was produced by Louie Talan and mastered by Imago's Zach Lucero, with Rivermaya's Mark Escueta among their guest performers on their album. The album received success all over the nation as their singles Ikot and Sayang peaked at various radio countdowns in the Philippines with the latter nominated in the 19th Awit Awards for Best Performance by a New Group. Langit was also a part in the Pinoy Big Brother DVD. The album also received many praises, Magic 89.9 gave it a perfect rating boosting its sales.

Not only were they radio friendly, but they also got featured on different TV shows even before the release of their debut album. And their videos proved to have a lasting mark even on local music stations where they also received success on MYX Daily Countdown and MTV Diyes.

Following their success was the release of their sophomore album, DeLorean on the 17th of March, 2007. Anghel was their carrier single and also received success on both radio and local music channels.

SINOSIKAT? @ The 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

A lot has happened since Sinosikat? released its debut album two years ago, and the band has proven to be quite a force in the music industry, wowing audiences both underground and in the mainstream. With a string of number one hits, the band has garnered awards, being recognized both for its members’ individual talents and their collective songwriting prowess.

In 2007, singer Kat Agarrado bagged the NU 107 Rock Awards Vocalist of the Year title, besting other prominent performers such as Bamboo Manalac of Bamboo, Mark Abaya of Kjwan & Ebe Dancel of Sugarfree. It was no stretch then that in last year’s Awit Awards the band earned three titles, Best World/Alternative Music for “Turning My Safety Off”, Best Jazz Recording for “Akin Ka”, and People’s Choice for Favorite Group for “So Blue”, racking up recognition points for their critically acclaimed album.

As further acknowledgment for Sinosikat?’s growing popularity, early this year the iced tea brand C2 signed them on to perform the product’s carrier commercial single, “Best About Life”, featuring arrangements and TV ad appearances by the band. The video has seen regular airtime on television, and was formally launched on the Sunday noontime shows ASAP & SOP.

With the continued success of the band has come the addition of new members. Finding the right bassist and keyboardist was not very easy for the group, and while Sinosikat? Was privileged to play with some of the best musicians in the country, a gap had yet been filled. With the welcome addition of Philippe Arreola (bassist) and David Starck (keyboardist) to the band, they are now a solid five-piece group, drawing on the different styles of the members to create a surprisingly harmonious fusion of jazz, funk, soul, and rock.

In the two years after the debut album was released, Sinosikat? has been busy writing songs and spending time in the studio recording tracks for a new record, soon to be released. The new album will be featuring 10-11 tracks, a colorful combination of love songs, funk grooves and arena ready ballads. From the soulful “Patiently” to rock anthem “Wherever You Are” to neo-70’s ballad “Sa Ngalan ng Pag-ibig Mo” to the funky musical polemic “Pwede Ba?”, Sinosikat? is exploring different palettes to produce music that is continuously fresh and challenging.

TEATRO FLAMENCO @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

TEATRO FLAMENCO, one of the rising flamenco groups in the country, will yet again be showcased in Backdoor Ventures’s annual Arts & Music Festival, well on its 5th run this February 2010.

Mr Kenneth Gaerlan is one of the top flamenco performers and teachers in the country, with certifications from Clara Ramona Centro de Danza Flamenco and the Guillermo Gómez Academia de Baile Español. He studied flamenco with over 10 teachers, including Ms Clara Ramona, Ms Perla Primicias, Ms Jane Orendain and Señor Guillermo Gómez. Kenneth has had numerous tv appearances (on Chikiting Patrol, Wake Up Call, Alas Singko Y Medya, Keep On Dancing Umagang Kay Ganda, The Sweet Life, Shall We Dance, etc. He appeared as a flamenco bullfighter in the 1997 tv commercial of Nissan Terrano.

Teatro Flamenco, as a fledgling flamenco group, first performed at the Concert at the Park series – Flamenco Suite at Rizal Park (Paco Park, Manila), held Sept 11, 2005. Several performances followed, including for the Dia de Hispanidad festivities at the Poveda Learning Center, Oct 2006; Olé, Christmas Festival & Bazaar, organized by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, at SM Mall of Asia, Dec 2006; a cultural soiree at the private residence of Madame Imelda Marcos in January 2007; Session Road in Bloom, to close the Panagbenga Flower Festival of Baguio, Feb 2007; Ryan Cayabyab School of Music recital, held at Teatro Tomasino June 2007; and many others.
Teatro Flamenco also performed on tv many times, including for NBN’s Dial M (Dec 30 2007 episode), QTV’s The Sweet Life (Jan 2 2008 episode); and NBN’s Sining Gising (Jan 27 2008 episode).

Teatro Flamenco has also collaborated with Ms Cory Quirino for her yearly mall shows, starting with SM Mall Presents Wellness with Cory Quirino, Nov 30 2007 at MegaMall, followed by World of Wellness with Cory Quirino at Virra Mall (Nov 18 2009) and World of Wellness with Cory Quirino at SM Fairview (Nov 20 2009).

Teatro Flamenco is also proud to perform, on occasion, for advocacies, such as for a fundraising program for thyroid cancer survivor Vilma Toledano (Claret Theater, August 14, 2009) and an upcoming benefit dinner for cancer survivor Arlene Magmaliw (Moomba Café, Roces, Quezon City, this February 7, 2010.) Mr Kenneth, in his private capacity as dance teacher, also choreographed for deaf-mute students of the Marie Elena Memorial Foundation, during their Christmas party 2009.

The Charmes

s an indie garage-rock/post-punk band. They play their own music, and the distinctiveness of their music makes them stand out from any other bands. Their works can be described as rebellious, live, and organic. These talented lads play tumultuous music which can be enigmatic in many ways. This band just wants to get out and play their own music, and walk by their own style with hardly any care about what would others think of them in any way. The point is it’s all about the music for these young lads.

Formation: The band was formed around late 2006 by four close friends from Marikina city, Philippines. Brian Josef (Vocalist/Guitars/Song-writer), wanted to create a band that would be his true musical outlet, and at the same time he wanted to be comfortable with the members of the band. In order for that to happen, he thought of the closest musician friends he could think of, and came with a decision to recruit his high school friend JB Bulan (Lead Guitarist), who was then playing for other bands such as Flipside and Versus Venus. The two gave it a try, and it totally clicked. The next step was to look for the drummer that would best suit their musical style and endeavors. The answer was easy, they recruited Jerome Abello (Drummer). Like Brian and JB, he also went to the same school. They have known each other for years and were also band mates with JB. At the time, Jerome was also playing drums for a pop rock outfit called Craeons. And now the final step, the search of the bassist. Brian thought of all the bassists he could think of, until they finally agreed to recruit. Jino Manalo. Like his fellow band mates, he also went to the same school as the others. He was also playing bass for Craeons as well. At first, he went well with the other members and continued to create music with them. After a while, the band decided to replace him for undisclosed reasons. The replacement was a young lad from Marikina named Jiggers Vergel de dios (Bassist). Dropout from the same school that which the 3 other members had attended to. He was Brian’s childhood friend and a very close friend to JB and Jerome as well. They have known Jiggers for years. The lineup, now complete, it’s about time to get the spotlights open for “The Charmes†.


Influences: When they were starting out, the band listened to a lot of groups like The Beatles, The Libertines, Nada Surf, Thursday, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, Babyshambles, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, The Last Shadow Puppets, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Dirty pretty things, The Beach Boys, etc., and along with their individual musical tastes which lead them to create such a distinctive sound.

Band history:

The band started from a group of visual and performing artists
who shared the same passion and advocacy then they decided to venture into music.

After few performances and positive feedbacks from the audience,
came more invitations from different event organizers, and there it started.

The band was officially formed on the month of October way back year 2000 in Cebu City.
With members coming from Luzon, Visayas,and Mindanao

A fussion of different Filipino traditional beats with an element of todays modern music
using indigenous instruments which were mostly hand made
and adding up the modern drums and bass guitar
thus producing a distinctive Kadangyan sound and music...

Now KADANGYAN specializes in ethno-tribal rock music,
likewise plays in an acoustic set-up, provides natural ambient music
and performs different kinds of Filipino native rituals on different venues and special occassions.

In 2002, the band released their first independent album.
Included in the ten tracks CD is the song “Kaluluwa†which is a universal soul chant and a call for rain

Aside from the Ms. Earth competition, the group has performed in events such as “Sarap to sundown†,

PROJECT GANYMEDE’s music is a heady fusion of traditional, classical, organic, electronic, ambient, ethnic, and ethereal elements. The convergence of light and darkness, creating a distinct sound that represents genres across time and space. The group is a powerful assemblage of artists in their own fields; with poet, mentor, and performance artist Yanna Verbo Acosta standing as the fiery frontwoman. Their major influences - Sarah Brightman, Anggun, Ojos de Brujo, Delerium, and Enigma, among others - resonate in their own materials. Indeed, a global musical brew certified to take the audience to a higher plane.
Their past performances are at various major events such as the 2008 Urian Awards at the CCP;
Fete de la Musique 2008 at the Mall of Asia; Artists Fair Pilipinas Year 3 in Eastwood City; Chromatext Reloaded 2007at the CCP to name a few.

SYALAM @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Given the eternal Afro/Latin bias of Local and Western ears, Asian music, particularly Philippine music seems to be the 'final frontier' of world music. Exceptional East/West fusionist SYALAM is the latest band to challenge this state of affairs. What started off as a side project band for most of its members in 2006, led them to a musical journey where everything was made possible through the help of some good friends in the industry, SYALAM was able to self produce and release their debut album “TAYO†under Mah Music Records in June 13, 2008.

TAYO is a Malay influenced album that showcases the band’s pride and distinctive approach in creating their very own type of music. In this album, SYALAM provides a broad range of musicality, ranging from reggae to blues, folk dance to dub, and jazz to tribal ethnic. TAYO, which consists of 10 original tracks, summons the beauty and the struggle of modern Filipino culture, invokes their listeners to spread “the word†and be a part of a positive cultural, environmental and social movement/transformation.

THE LATE ISABEL @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

In the dreams of those she haunts, Isabel is always leaving. She has been sighted barefoot and pale, by various sleepers, at the doorstep of a familiar downtown cinema, the gates of a university building at closing time, departing a smoky club and exiting a convenience store at twilight. She vanishes when she steps to the curb, just as the high beams of an approaching car freeze her. Those who do wake, often wake in sweat.

“I was playing with a visual concept, a series of posters showing this half-familiar woman always in transit,†says Allan Hernandez, explaining the basis of the name and the band’s wraith-like, female persona.

The music of THE LATE ISABEL is the origin, product and nature of this haunting rolled into a single koan. It is music that makes of funerals and wakes a celebration -- a time to sing and a time to dance as tears run down your face. The character of Isabel, the vignettes and scenes of her life (and probably her demise) live on in the band’s songs. Aural creations that crest and break like a wave of grief to wash over both viscera and brain with the force of psychedelia, ambient, shoegazer, dark wave and goth.

The band started in 1998 as MADELINE USHER then renamed itself OLD WORLD CHARM in 1999, shedding and gaining a few members along the way. Earlier still it was a death metal outfit named THANATOPSY, and so on to THE LATE ISABEL DELGADO, now remembered even more easily -- and fondly -- without her surname. The band is currently composed of WAWI NAVARROZA (vocals), ALLAN HERNADEZ (guitars), JP AGCAOILI (drums), and ROVAL BACALE (bass), all veterans of the Manila goth-punk scene.

Coming of age in the post-punk era, the quartet grew up with a love for bands that eschewed the freewheeling go-go of ‘80s mainstream music. With this came the intuitive understanding that music had to function on all to achieve a holistic effect.

“Art is not an isolated experience. It is deeply personal and deeply communal. I believe that the visual aspect of the band needs to be included in the package,†relates JP Agcaoili.

“If I could put music, painting, poetry, literature all in one package, then I would love to do that,†agrees Wawi Navarroza.

Their debut album, DOLL’S HEAD, is a collection of eight exceptional tracks composed of equal parts lament, anguish, awe and snapshots of everyday tragedies. From the sinuous and seductive chant of the title track, the hungry eloquence of “Fingers Around the Wineglass,†the demented agitation of “Follow (The Mad March),†to the exploration of the urban abyss that is “Midnight City,†the record is indeed the culmination of two years’ labor in the subculture fringe.

Meanwhile, their live performance has been praised by local media as a “tour through the dark corners of . . .dreams,†adding that, “to watch The Late Isabel live is to be intrigued. . .and entranced.â€

DOLL’S HEAD crystallizes the quartet’s skill for leading the listener to precision rapture via a swirling palette of textures and sonic landscapes that bring to fore the monsters, beautiful or otherwise, lurking in the depths. Proof that being haunted can be a ravishing, rhapsodic experience.

Do you play live?
Yes. Mostly around Metro Manila's rock music bars and clubs (Mayric's, Freedom Bar, Millennia, etc), but sometimes also in venues outside of the Philippine metropolitan capital. Also in live rock concerts and events periodically held in Manila.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's a whole new medium for music, the same yet utterly different. It will change the way music is made, from concept to marketing, probably in much the same way, if not more so, than the way music videos have changed pop music culture.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I guess the members of The Late Isabel are not very conscious of that as an issue. We want to make our music, and probably get it out into the ether as well, with a life of its own. Doing it indie or with a major label is not something we consciously ponder on.
Your influences?
The band has always been partial to Siouxsie and the Banshees, as well as other late-seventies and eighties acts like The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Joy Division, etc. Digging deeper, we looked to artists who in turn influenced these acts, and so now for covers we do our own twists on songs by David Bowie, Velvet Underground, The Doors, or even off-track renditions of unexpected songs like "My Favourite Things" (from Sound of Music) or "Diamonds are Forever" (from James Bond). The band members all have eclectic tastes and we try to feed that musical knowledge into a sound that we like to think is distinctly The Late Isabel - glassy guitars, insistent basslines, primitive beats... It may be worth to note that there is a conscious absence of keyboards, which we like to take as a challenge and distinct feature in our coming up with a heavy atmosphere and ambience in our sound coming out from just percussions, guitars, bass and vocals.

THE CHONGKEYS A band with mix genre, through our music of rock alternative, reggae with a little bit of ,funk, rap, dub and few surprises that are recepies for a whole lot of fun into a good sound trip. THE CHONGKEYS was formed in 2003 and today still consist of the four members, namely BENJIE P. ESTANISLAO (voice), JOHAN S. LUGTU (guitar/voice) PEPITO TRINIDAD (bass) and MARK MARQUEZ (drums). We started in a simple jamming session place in Marikina called “Groove Shop†(an indie skate store). Benjie who was one of the owners of Groove Shop; Johan was a vocalist of a hardcore CAKEWALK band, Pepito from BEEWINGS band and Mark a former drummer of CHERRY CORNFLAKES who replaced the former drummer Judas of ILL ADVICE. After several jamming sessions and being together we decided to make more songs and get serious about it. Few months after, we had EP launched, 10 tracks of our original songs at the rock and roll Purple Haze Bar. THE CHONGKEYS had the honor of playing in many venues in metro manila (Bars: Mayrics, Xymaca, Club Dreeds, Purple Haze Bar, Freedom Bar, Dayo Bar, Kolumn Bar, Magnet Bar, Ride and Roll Diners, 9Mile bar, 70’s Bistro, One Love Bar, 6 Underground, Wills Attic and more). Also played in some parties like birthday’s, company’s christmas parties and our out of town gigs with some of the top performers in the Philippine Music Industry. We also played in most of the big events within Metro Manila like Pulp Summer Slam, Fete de la Musique Malate, Rakista 7, 9 & 10, Skateboard Demo and Competition, Tabak, Urge Magazine Tour, UP Fair, Dutdutan Festival 2008, Give A Damn for Rizal 2008, The First Clark Rock Festival, Arts Music Festival (I,II,III and IV) and several guesting and judging for Battle of the Bands. Had the opportunities to play on TV Sows like Breakfast Show with Studio23 and Jojo A of QTV Channel and Live Radio Interviews with NU107 FM, Jam88.3 live session and YesFM Boracay. We believed, supported, promoted and respected different genre. Because of our respect and faith in music we had given a chance to be managed by Ann Angala-Shy (a former band manager of Eraserheads and POT). During her guidance and supervision we


promoted one of our songs title "DIKSYONARYO" and luckily had been chosen to be one of the tracks for Doobie Nights Album produced by Jam 88.3 under Galaxy Records, also this song has been placed in your regular videoke selection around metro and “TIGNAN MO†(one of our song) was nominated Song of the Year in 2007 NU107 Rock Awards. THE CHONGKEYS had earned so much respect from both underground and mainstream scenes. Known band artists like Rivermaya, Kamikaze and Radio Active Sago Project just to name a few gave us their appreciation to our music. In August 2008 Ann Angala-Shy appointed our Road Manager Ann Constantino (a member of AMA Sound of Nativity Music Society and production manager of UProductions Manila) to take her position as a Band manager. On the other hand, Ann Angala-Shy is now our band consultant. February 4, 2009 we had launched our first music video for “DIKSYONARYO†.

GLASSPOINT @ the 5th Backdoor Ventures ARTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL

As the first Ilocano rock band to take a crack at the Philippine music mainstream industry, GLASSPOINT (dubbed as the Northern pride) never makes an effort to sound different. They simply make songs and play songs they enjoy.

Anthemic in lyrics, accompanied by melodic arrangements and exceptional instrumentation, Glasspoint songs are all about the very essence of life – humanity, heart and soul and everything that revolves around it.

Glasspoint made the very first Ilocano rock song entitled “Pagayam†; an Ilocano – rock song, which was an unheard practice in the land of the North. It was an experiment that proved the bands’ versatility and talent. Pagayam is now hitting the local radio stations in the North, Metro Manila and Honolulu, Hawaii.

Due to release their first album recorded at Tracks Recording Studio with Angee Rozul as producer and sound engineer, Glasspoint is sure to amaze everyone with the diversity of their music and the brilliance of the lyrics and instrumentation, which is the mark of every Glasspoint song!
